We are currently recruiting for a Youth Minister.
Full Time. Part-time considered.
Are you an enthusiastic, creative, warm and patient Christian who is passionate to see young people come into a relationship with Jesus and grow as disciples? We are looking for a Youth Minister who is gifted in building relationships and teaching the Bible, and has a passion to help our young people become strong disciples of Christ as well as reach out to the wider community with the good news of Jesus.
St Nicolas Church is a vibrant, evangelical, town-centre church with a congregation encompassing all ages and stages of life. We are a healthy church, and we are hungry to grow. You would join a united and committed staff team and church leadership – and you would be given an exciting opportunity to lead a fruitful youth ministry with great potential for further growth.
The youth and children’s work at St Nicolas Church has been a draw for many families for many years. As in most churches, our youth ministry has experienced much change over the two years of the pandemic. Our main youth groups are now up and running once more, led by strong teams of committed volunteers. They are doing a fantastic job and we are very encouraged by the number of young people returning. We are now looking for a new youth minister to work with and grow our existing teams, and to oversee and develop the ministry long term. We are keen to rebuild our youth ministry outside of Sundays, to reconnect with the youth within our church families (some who no longer attend church), and to develop our outreach to our town.
The successful candidate will need to take ownership of the youthwork (11-18s) in the church, being creative and visionary in line with the overall vision of St Nicolas Church: Being good news. Bringing good news.
This is a full time post. However, we are willing to consider a part-time role for the right candidate. We are very open to receiving applications from candidates with only informal experience of youth ministry: we are looking for potential as much as for experience.
